Yuan Yan Tang (Life Fellow, IEEE) is currently the Director of the Smart City
Research Center, Zhuhai UM Science and Technology Research Institute, Zhuhai, China; the Emeritus Chair
Professor with the University of Macau, Macau, and Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong; and an Adjunct
Professor with Concordia University, Montreal, QC, Canada. He has published more than 600 academic papers
and is the author (or co-author) of over 25 monographs, books, and book chapters. His research interests
include artificial intelligence, wavelets, pattern recognition, and image processing.,Dr. Tang is an IAPR
Fellow and an AAIA Fellow. He is the Founder and the General Chair of the series International Conferences
on Wavelets Analysis and Pattern Recognition (ICWAPRs). He is the Founder and the Chair of Macau Branch of
International Associate of Pattern Recognition (IAPR). He has served as the General Chair, the Program
Chair, and a committee member for many international conferences. He served as the Chairperson for the
18th ICPR, which is the first time that the ICPR was hosted in China. He is the Founder and the
Editor-in-Chief of SCI journal International Journal on Wavelets, Multiresolution, and Information
Processing (IJWMIP).

Huawei Huang,IEEE Senior Member

Huawei Huang is a professor at Sun Yat-sen University and a dual-appointment
professor at Lingnan College of SYSU. Since 2021, he has been consecutively recognized among the Top 2%
Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University. His research interests include blockchain systems and
protocols, blockchain finance, DeFi protocols, and Web3 infrastructure. He has published numerous research
papers in CCF-A journals and conferences such as IEEE/ACM ToN, JSAC, TPDS, TSC, TDSC, TIFS, TMC, TC, and
INFOCOM. He has served as chair for many academic conferences, workshops, and symposiums. He is the author
of two blockchain monographs, “From Blockchain to Web3 & Metaverse” and “Blockchain Sharding: Theory and
Practice,” as well as a popular blockchain science book, namely “From Blockchain to Web3: building the
next-generation Internet”. Under his leadership, his team developed and open-sourced a blockchain
experimental tool, BlockEmulator, that provides researchers with a mature, high-quality experimental
framework and code. BlockEmulator has served researchers from over 90 countries and regions worldwide.

Normi Sham Awang Abu Bakar

Normi Sham Awang Abu Bakar is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of
Information and Communication Technology, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), and a
distinguished researcher in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Artificial Intelligence, Data
Quality, and Blockchain Technologies. She is the Founder of the IIUM Blockchain Lab and Research Leader of
the Blockchain Research Group, where she spearheads interdisciplinary research on blockchain, trustworthy
AI, software quality engineering, and intelligent digital solutions. She also serves as the Deputy
Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre, leading strategic initiatives that foster innovation,
entrepreneurship, and university–industry collaboration. Her research has contributed to advancing
software quality metrics, AI-enabled software testing, blockchain-based credential verification, central
bank digital currencies, and software quality assurance in AI-driven system. A recipient of multiple
innovation awards, including Sustainability Award as Project of the Year and an invited keynote speaker at
international conferences, she is widely recognised for bridging cutting-edge research with practical
impact, particularly in the areas of Trustworthy AI, Explainable AI, software quality engineering, digital
transformation, and sustainable innovation.
